About Rejo Jones

"Massage is so much more to me then just a touch on the physical level. It is a soother of mind, body and soul."

Services

I offer many different types of massage. For example, Swedish Massage is perfect for overall body relaxation, while Deep Tissue is used to loosen those stubborn knots caused by tension, stress and overuse. Meridian therapies like Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do, Accupressure and Reflexology use pressure points on the meridian lines associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to balance and awaken your soul and personal energies.

My goal is to indulge you with a customized massage that is completely focused on meeting your specific needs. I aim to provide you thorough relaxation, energy balance and total rejuvenation. The following are descriptions of many of the techniques I use. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me at any time.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu Massage is a Japanese form of massage. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Qi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas. These chronic stress areas can be due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is somewhat common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will be released from the deep tissue during the session.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage combines passive yoga-like stretching with gentle pressure along your body’s natural energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle tension, and enhance your overall well-being. The session is performed on a special mat on the floor, leaving you with a deeply nourished, relaxed and energized feeling. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that will allow for a full range of motion during the stretches.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that mostly intend to relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into the feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing “trigger points” in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle tissue rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These ‘knots’ are built up throughout a person’s life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are long-lasting and profoundly transformative.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy can be used for a wide range of purposes, including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.

Jin Shin Do

Jin Shin Do is a style of bodywork that uses gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific “points” on your body to release chronic tension and harmonize your Qi (energy) flow. A unique synthesis of eastern and western healing approaches, Jin Shin Do aligns the body, mind and spirit to help bring you into a deeper state of awareness, clarity and purpose.

Acupressure

Acupressure is a form of bodywork similar to acupuncture, with the aim of stimulating specific points along the energy lines of the body to establish overall health and vitality by balancing your Qi (energy) flow. Unlike acupuncture, however, with this modality I use my hands to apply pressure to the specific points, rather than needling, producing similar therapeutic results.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh for the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body’s natural immune function.

Stone Therapy

Stone Therapy is a type of bodywork that uses deep penetrating heat and/or alternating cold from specialized stones. The physiological benefits of alternating hot and cold to the body have long been scientifically and medically proven.

Stone Therapy delivers a profound expansion and contraction inside your circulatory system, improving the function of your lymphatic and immune systems, and enhancing your body’s self-healing mechanisms. This style of bodywork takes you into deep states of relaxation, releasing stress and anxiety, detoxifying the body, and balancing your nervous system.
